Cat and Flower

Cat and Flower is a colorful creation made from a mix of transparent and opaque glass.

This glass artwork is crafted from pieces of colored “art” glass that are precisely cut, sawed, and polished to fit seamlessly together. A second layer of clear glass is then added over the entire piece, ensuring everything becomes one cohesive whole when heated in a special glass kiln to approximately 800°C.

The process, from closing the kiln to reopening it, takes about 24 hours. This results in a beautifully smooth artwork that is now a single, unified piece. The eyes and whiskers are added afterward, followed by a second firing at a lower temperature. This ensures that the added details maintain their shape and do not fuse with the base layer.

The artwork is signed on the back and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
